@mart0Day Six of coding a Cute Pomodoro Timer -- Coding time: 2 HOURS AND 50 MINUTES?!?!?Yeah, i've gone actually bonkers. I was supposed to study.
Added a cool animation to this! Also, tried to migrate processes to background.js. This is PAIN!!!!11111@JigmetAvinash0Lifes been good lately but exams made me unable to make anything .... sike I made a whole emergency erss system for domestic use (still in making). Hackclub's sprig was really helpful here tho
@Tishya0Sneak peek into my counterspell game Nerd or Lovebird.
Join Marvin, our CS nerd on his journey to either work on his degree or get the girl! Help him go through tasks like showering, touching grass and talking to girls to get the girl OR to study and write his exam to get his degree!
@cytronicoder0hiii 1 more launch! this one's the kicker, and I don't see any reason I can't share it with you guys!
this summer, I built BioRSP (Biological Radar Scanning Plots)—an open-source tool that took a huge amount of time, effort, and dedication LOL I barely got sleep working
BioRSP is designed to enhance the analysis of single-cell gene expression patterns by simulating radar-like scanning across cell clusters. It’s a major step forward in bioinformatics, particularly for those of us focused on spatial transcriptomics and understanding cellular heterogeneity.
What does that mean? Imagine trying to figure out what’s going on at a massive concert. You can hear some people singing loudly, others talking quietly, and some areas where it’s just silent. But if you were up in the sky with a radar, you could scan the crowd from different angles and figure out exactly where the loudest singers are, where groups of people are talking, and where it’s completely quiet.
In a similar way, BioRSP helps scientists "scan" groups of cells to find out which ones are "singing" (expressing genes) the loudest, which ones are "whispering," and which ones are silent. This tool is super important for discovering new insights about how cells work together in tissues, like in our hearts or brains.
Basically, I wanted it to be a completely new way to visualize and analyze spatial gene expression patterns. Currently, prelim results show that it outperforms traditional methods, like Polar Gini Curves, in detecting subtle and significant spatial patterns. I've also successfully used in a case study involving neonatal mouse heart tissue :blahaj-heart:
I'm incredibly proud of this project, and I’m excited to share it with y'all FINALLY see how it can help researchers - I also published this as an actual preprint (doi.org/10.1101/2024.06.25.599250) (yes yes actually im legit researcher now much wow)

(if u get my project, I rly hope you can vote for it LAWL I submitted 2 projects that I felt were the most meaningful and technically me-representing instead of 20 coughs)
@RamRatan0exam just ended and look whats on my reading list
@ajhalili20060Let's do a quick showdown of what's been cooking for #C07NUNPGEU8| during the week of September 22 to 28, Philippines Standard Time. Apologies if this week's been a hell week due to being the 1st quarterly exam on the 25th and 26th day of September, 2024.
The bulk of the coding hours in the week are dedicated to building the MVP features for the Slack app version of Recap Time Bot, our multi-purpose toolkit/service account/bot for Recap Time Squad's projects and friends, including hooking up Prisma ORM for Postgres data presistence on Nest (instead of coping up with the Airtable free tier limits) and building up some workflows via TypeScript Slack app development work (permission requests for accessing some bot features and slash commands). See the attached screenshots for a sneak peek.
The rest is mostly infrastructure related work for both my personal and Recap Time Squad cloud resources (mainly Cloudflare DNS records over octoDNS and some Docker Compose shenanigans), plus some behind the scenes work for my website powered by Material for Mkdocs theme.
Overall, I banked 10h 11m as of time of writing (up to the publication of this scrapbook entry), totaling to 14h 46m since September 17 (plus 10m designing for fun and profit) without the 'browsing' hours. See the thread for details on the stats.

@anne0i made some pixel art as a newbie-ish artist who desperately wants to buy a tablet for art and study stuff (find this art stuff on github.com/arsoninstigator/art within the folders) :D
@TheScientist1010My friend and I just finished what I would call the first usable version of my app, StudyBits.
TLDR; it’s a Studying Tool, and you should download the app by using the link below!
I wanted to create this because of my freshman year of high school; AP HuG had taught me the error in my studying habits, so I decided to try and design a solution. Unfortunately, once sophomore year started, I didn’t have time to finish the app, which I was developing in Ionic at the time. Luckily, #C073DTGENJ2| reminded me of this idea, it also convinced me to switch to React Native, which was much better than Ionic for my purposes.
Now the app: StudyBits helps you avoid cramming for your exams by allowing you to study on your phone. You can simply subscribe to a course, which will add a set of questions to your question pool. Then, you can answer questions from your question pool by going to the “Answer” tab in the app which will randomly select a question for you to answer. In the future, we plan to implement an algorithm which selectively chooses questions which will maximize your learning in combination with spacial repetition. You might be wondering who creates the questions, well you do! To create questions, you simply create a channel and a course with whatever units you would like. Then, you create questions in the create tab to your heart’s content. WE NEED YOU TO CREATE USEFUL COURSES! Right now, all we have is a filler brainrot course, so we encourage you to make usable courses (or courses on how to mew). In the future, we plan to use artificial intelligence to inflate our question sets. Finally, you can use our app to motivate you by competing for a spot on the leaderboard. By answering questions correctly, you gain points which rank you higher on our leaderboard, we plan to make this algorithm more complex in the future. Try to beat “The Sigma Rizzler” who is at 10,000,003 points 😉.

Demo video attached below!
I know right now the UX is a little inconsistent, and has room for improvement. This app is still a work in progress :loading:…
@awdev0My Aviary project is a study in aerodynamics. This is a pretty long overdue scrapbook but I got lift simulation working with the airfoil's angle of attack!

@NimitVijayvargee0The skeleton for my chess bot! Right now you can play against the worst bot ever, but features such as move indicators, check indicators and promotion are available!
Currently working on piecemaps, underpromotion and intend to use the Minmax tree search algo for the main bot! My exams are starting so the project will probably continue after arcade, so I am posting this now. It was a great run, and I really enjoyed participating in the arcade. cya!

@PranavAggarwal0hey I have created backend for my Quiz and Exam prep in which you can prepare for your exams by getting questions related to your desired exam and you can make notes, flash cards and study rooms in it too, you can also make a study plan to organise your prep and best part is that you can also ask people doubts related to any topic and they can help you out resolve the doubts(I am working on its frontend so for now only backend)
Github :- github.com/Pranav-1100/quizzing
@poppy0#arcade I designed the layout of my next big web dev project, which makes studying a game and you get a virtual pet, and a reward system (still working on it) Here are the Git commits of what I could finish in that particular hour - github.com/geethasreeg/gamifiedstudycorner
@Saumil0made some progress on my school hack club website
(I can't finish it in one chunk caus of exams)
github.com/saumilthecode/bbsshackclubbbsshack.club
(realistically the only thing working is the projects page + my understanding of Bootstrap studio + the really really funny "join us" button at the top that jiggles when u press on it + join us form)
@nikita0📚 | StudyTube
StudyTube is a Chrome extension that helps you study better by providing a distraction-free environment on YouTube. StudyTube replaces the normal YouTube user interface with a custom one, so there are no distractions. After searching for a topic, the extension will show you the results, but not the random recommendations, like short reels or "You may also like..." div's.
