@louisa7+i spend a bit too much time on my #C080GFRKXJ5| project today, waiting for the font features to drop so i can make the weather conditions smaller :)
@roxwize1this is going to take a really fucking long time
@Lawri1Today i began web development on the flask server for my ship. here is the current state of the page its not hooked up to the live data. The Styling is almost complete i just have to upload the logo.
@louisa7+today :
1. made braidsbuddy (very funny backstory, im currently undoing my braids and i wanted to do hatsune miku hair coloured braids next but i couldn't find the braid colour name so i thought why not make something that could help me do that) its kinda not complete because i used x-pression braids naming system which isnt universal so im going to need to add other braiding hair providers + their naming systems + also i didnt add the miku braiding hair since its not on x-pression but once i add the new stuff imma add it :D
2. did added my stuff to crates.io (ch. 14) nothing fancy lol. it was super cool seeing what ppl are making on the new crates section
3. athena nairobi - havent done much on this today since im waiting for a couple of stuff to be done
@Aram0🚢 BOIDS! 🚢
Have you ever looked at birds in the sky and wondered... I wonder what the mathematical calculations for there movement were? You probably haven't but if you have, that's a real thing!
It's called Boids. It's based on 3 rules (separation, cohesion, alignment) and can make some movements that look like schools of fish 🐟 or bird 🐦 movement, it can even make really satisfying timelapses!
So over the last week-ish I decided to make a pygame script to simulate these Boids and create a program to see these mesmerizing patterns thats a mix between art and music!
You can check out the code (and compile it yourself to run) here (give it a star maybe :p) , if you want to read more about boids, the wikipedia page is pretty good and there are a bunch of articles about it.
I'll try to host a 24/7 <https://youtube.com/live/xwIw1qobiUw?feature=share|stream> for as long as possible if anyone wants to see it in action!
@Sid-U0812AA7ELD0my linter's so mad at me i need to change the settings 😭
@louisa7+i havent been locked in today :') but i:
1. added more guests to the athena dinner guest list, havent heard back from web dev team so i worked on a design just incase :)
2. spent a decent amt of my time earlier today sharing my doubloons (by buying some stuff :P) w/ some ppl in #C07FDHUL50F| (my channel)
@hex40more of a behind-the-scenes Mosaic update today! I made the widget code reusable, which should make adding new widgets wayyyyy faster and the code much easier to maintain! let's hope this pays off for the one hour I spent trying to figure out how to make a $bindable$<http://derived.by|derived.by> (i ended up giving in and using an effect)
@pbthecoder0Drew a couple of things for my game, including a whole lot of food (kfc anyone)
Programmed outside, debugged small issues today
Programmed the start of Flowers room where most of the actual games are

• rust - i infact did NOT stop learning rust lol. did ch.13. learning rust has been interesting, its just so many new concepts that ive never heard. (peep the ferris drawing)
@louisa7+today:
1. heard back from a couple of the ppl (nairobi gdc & microsoft garage nairobi) i emailed for athena! also called our 2 likely venues to confirm something. nearly done with budget
2. added new feature to LYLA
3. lots of robotics class work!
@TheRealCraig0I fixed the dashboard and added a basic /newscribble page in Codeboard today. I've also been working on cobraracing.ie for the last while.
@snej550Today I worked on the main menu, and gameplay loop - the idea is that you lose money by dying (in the hard platformer levels), and gain money via collecting coins by fighting enemies (in the inbetween levels). This means that I will have two types of level - spiky and dangerous platformer-style levels, and levels with a bunch of enemies and decoration where the player can replenish their coins (at their own risk) by killing enemies. I also added some more sound effects, and some ui animations. Next is a soundtrack and some polish (backgrounds and more vfx and stuff).
For some reason the logo didn't show up in the recording:
@pbthecoder0In addition to my previous two screens for my hackapet, I also finished the Box room and updated the TV room with new art. I also added a mouse sensing and fixed text writing. Fixed bug where you can change TV without interacting with it.
@PhyoTP7+day 17 of making sap kawaiilogos (my app!)
@khang2009230writing an llm which interrogates you and updates its internal model about you
@Blu0I spent a lot of time redoing one of my old Java CLI projects... but this time as a GUI, as I couldn't figure out how to properly convert my CLI bank account into a GUI app, or think of new features to add to my cookie clicker clone. This tested my patience the most out of any project I have built so far as I kept squashing and making bugs for what seemed to be hours, and having to go through trial and error many times as I teach myself how the Swing library works. There is still a lot of work to be done, and I have had to essentially rewrite everything from my old simple CLI program except a few switch statements for questions which had to be modified and moved what was not what I expected going into this. I am also in the process of methodizing the code from the single static block as it is a lot more versatile in CLI and necessary for GUI apps.
@SkyfallWasTaken0main thing today was archimedes work!
• fixed some bugs w/ multi-author things
• added a basic email template w/ react-email (but i might rip it out for mjml later)
• added approval requests that are sent to a review channel (like prox2)
• added dms when thing is approved/rejected
• applied for (and received) access to telemetry.hackclub.com
hopefully I haven't leeked anything important :P
@louisa7+finished my #C07QKKZPVD0| project, nothing fancy lol first 30 seconds of bad apple in under 5.3kb (github)
@j4y_boi1Today I made a lot of progress on my hackapet submission
@PhyoTP7+day 16 of making sap kawaiilogos, done with class of 2024
@sagru0Current project, game launcher/manager for windows with a ps5 look(maybe even xbox?)
@snej550Today I continued adding some stuff to my game. It now has lava, the start to a main menu, and some level transitions (with portals). I also added some shockwave vfx for the explosions.

@PratyushVelShankar0im crying in happiness, week view aint gonna be that hard after all
@PratyushVelShankar0aah! finally!@XanderKleiber0It's once again been a little while since the last update! I've added the ability to load scenes (with a custom file format to describe objects within the scene). In order to test this, I created a few scenes with a couple objects each, and I also added Bob-Omb Battlefield as a little bonus. I also fixed the bug where parented objects would rotate incorrectly, which was due to a lack of radian to degree conversion when setting rotation on an object.
@louisa7+today:
athena stuff!! had a meeting on the same, lots of discussion
nearly done w my say cheese submission
worked on a lil something w aframe ( @eesha knows the lore)
was my hack-iversary (1yr at hc), i yapped ab it with a long essay on my channel lol
@Astron0today i finished off the sprites for my hackapet (after drawing for 2 completely different themes , one of them was f1 (down) )
anyways now ive finalized with a penalty shootout-esque and it kind of works !!
@snej550Exam week is finally over! Today I added some coins to my game, with some more vfx, some more sounds, font rendering (with SDL_ttf), some ui improvements, leaves (particles that fall from the trees and stuff, kinda hard to see with all of the coins), and did some debugging (another seg fault waah). Next I am planning to add some lava, music and a main menu (finally).
