ls mode when you just want to list stuff (before it made it interactive so you had to press escape which now you do not)
ls now, with powerful searching capabilities, support for fcd and opening files in preferred app. Since it originally was meant to be a file explorer it still can support copy, cut, paste actions right from cmd line. And the best part about this ls is that it can also support a jump to feature (you start typing what you want and the best record gets the focus!)
