@sam0I've been forgetting to write the past few days so here it comes! The past 4 days @ Shad :shad: and we're nearing the end of the program, here's some highlights! The final presentation went well as expected! We also went to 🇨🇦 Banff! It was my second time being there. The view in general, especially 🏞️ Lake Louise, was gorgeous as usual and I had some amazing 🤌 ramen at the Town of Banff! The same day, we got to ride the Banff 🚡 Gondola. The view during the ride and the views on top of Sulfur Mountain ⛰️ were amazing. I had a great time with my fellow Shad members. We also went to downtown 🏙️ Calgary! Took the C-Train 🚊 again; I love Calgary Public Transit. Visited the top of Calgary Tower, the view was breathtaking.
That's all! With only a day left in the program, and all the memories and connections I've formed, it feels bittersweet that I'll probably never see the majority of them after a day.
@Lucas0In the last 2 days I've been spending a good amount of time in the haxidraw editor, I confess that it's addictive, I started trying to understand how each function works, then I googled about geometric drawings and found something very interesting: Mandalas, so I started to create a pattern, which worked well by the way, with time I discovered that by changing a single number the drawing changed completely! It's so interesting
You can see some of my experiments here: github.com/LucasHT22/Lucas-haxidraw@linkai0i’m 3d printing gifts for friends before graduation! here’s a moving polar bear and seal thing :))
@ThomasStubblefield0Added some color to the mock-ups 🙂
(all Images & Text are place-holder content)
@ThomasStubblefield0I added some placeholder images (not representative of actual content).
(I tend to design without images, so I'll probably revert back to the grey blocks for further designs, but I just wanted to see how it would look with images).
@cytronicoder0I got myself a board mat for my board game! :hyper-dino-wave:
@sahitid0had an unforgettable day leading forsyth hacks with @ChristianDutton-U04E0LL16MA today! here's a mini-ship, but sm more coming soon :forsyth-hacks-bw:
@Vidhaaaaa0:yay: a very beautiful view - but moving vehicle xD
@maggie0:winter-hardware-wonderland: day 14: pcbs arrived!!! they look great but I haven't tested them yet...really hope they actually work, but if not, at least they look good :p
@CodyBohannan-U04FTLGP8R20Hey y’all! I’m so excited it’s already time for WHW!
Let me introduce you to what my sister and I have been building! We are working on a PC that will run a custom version of Linux complied from scratch!
Today we have finished the build of the actual PC itself, and are preparing it to start building the Linux From Scratch-based distro
Below are some photos of the computer, nothing too fancy (except for the RGB the case fans came with) but will get the job done 🛠️
@kognise0gonna share here because i’m somewhat proud of myself actually… built a fully custom graphviz thingy yesterday! the implementation is really, really clean and i’m super happy with it! :)))
it’s like. performant. and really flexible. renders dags that can have references, and you can for example double click on the dashed links to tree-ify the references (and reverse that too) with their own saved state. and a bunch of other nifty things
@sam0Currently only put a clock on there for testing. But it works!! Local sveltekit server running in the background with chromium in kiosk mode. The best part is everything auto starts. :raspberry-pi-logo:
@TechDev-U03QD9JGFLG0Here is some real-time rendering work I’ve been doing recently:
1. Stylized end sky using warped trochoidal wave patterns
2. Multiple scattering subsurface scattering approximation using a custom phase function & diffusion method
3. Implementation of Sebastien Hillaire’s multiple scattering atmosphere model using brute force LUTs
@JosephDong0#10-days-in-public worked till exhaustion oops (2.5?/10)
Flew back home (the tsa check in line was insane)! Finding time is a little rough lately and I’m running on like ~4 hours of sleep but still made some progress sorted all my plugins into reasonable folders and spent some time getting a fill to sound decent. I’m p sure that work was lost cuz fl crashed on me but it’s alright cuz i didnt like the direction i was going anyways. still looking for a weekend release as planned, we’ll see how it goes
also saw my cats for the first time in several months! look at these silly lil goofballs hehehe
@jzaleta0Today I had a very good day! Here's a picture of the sunset. 📸 🌆 Tomorrow I'll have more coding updates! :macbook-air-space-gray-screen: Also tomorrow I have a college admission exam. I hope everything goes awesome, :cooll-dino: because I've been studying for a lot of time, so I'll do my best! 🏫 📕
@Devnol0Been a hot minute since I posted here but oh well I think this is worth sharing: We're at Tzoumerka in northern Greece and today we went up mt. Strogoula (which means something along the lines of "round"). Here are some pics from the hiking refuge we reached up the mountain after a 3ish km walk.
@karolina0thank you to everyone who provided suggestions on the figma plan!!
it had been a few months since i had sat down with a new web dev project and i forgot how much i love love love building websites. nothing like having a design vision come to life as an interactive media.
still very rough draft - not mobile-compatible yet and layout and alignment isn't perfect, but i love where this is headed.
@m040I love framer motion it is so so cool@jzaleta0Today I had a normal school day, my new internet is getting setup so I will be able to work on more things online soon, I also did an awesome Biology Diagram on today's Bio class and took a city landscape picture! 🌆
@bumblesam2.00Hi, I'm back. Its been a while since I've been in slack... welp I guess I'll update on what I've been doing.
There are 2 projects I'm doing , one with team, and one personal:
• Unity game(team project)
• Source engine game (Personal, also remember when I said when I'm making my own engine? I'm merging that with this.)
Welp its good to be back. so uh.. thanks for reading.
@philipstudentemail0I made 3D printer filament yesterday! #3d-printing @elytgy0Me and a couple friends fixed the engine from a pressure washer that was lying around the school’s workshop a while ago
@carrot0First revision is done! 5x10 cm board, finally got it under 10 cm in length :xdlol:
@m040For #codejelly I made reflection editor, a self-hosting web code editor. This means that it edits its own code, and runs everything entirely in the browser using service workers and IndexedDB!
Try it out here (only works in Chromium):
:twglobewith_meridians: : reflection-editor.netlify.app:github: : github.com/Merlin04/reflection@sampoder0Built the world’s most over-engineered next song button for github.com/sampoder/discovery. weird thing: the whole thing is being held together by the elastic strings of the mask I wore on friday lol@unsh0South Goa.
@deven0Non Technical Ship :shipitparrot:
I’m ridiculously proud of building this lmfao- This truss bridge is built just with regular candy sticks and glue, and took 3 entire days to build from scratch.
We broke the all time high record of 80 pounds cos dis bad boy sustained a total load of 99.2 pounds (45 kgs). It was really fun to do this just after we had completed an entire section of material science and mechanics :peefest:
