Burned a bunch of bootloaders on these leaps before shipping them out
the trial batch of orpheus leap arrived yesterday! flashed the bootloader and tried out a simple blinky program and everything’s working well
update from the pcb manufacturer! trial batch of bare pcbs have been made - waiting for the components to arrive for assembly
cheap robot design #2 - bit more expensive at $11.1 ($2.60 arduino pro micro, $0.40 custom pcb, $5.20 for 2 x continous rotation micro servo + wheel, $0.40 3d printed chassis, $2.70 battery) . leaning away from continuous rotation micro servo - it makes things easy but just costs too much
got the very first version of the robot working - current cost is at $9.89 ($5.40 motor/chassis, $1.14 digispark, $2.70 lipo, $0.40 breadboard + jumpers, and $0.25 motor controller)! hoping to get the motor/chassis cost to $2.25 (rn it uses aluminium chassis and there are lot cheaper alternatives) and lipo to under $2, but hoping to switch to a more performant custom arduino which will replace the digispark+breadboard/jumpers, but will probably be a bit more expensive.on a quest to make the cheapest programmable robot - did some pcb work today
received a package from @lachlanjc today! wow - I was so surprised! thank you so much to lachlan for sending this, @cwalker for the inspiring note, and to all of hq for this amazing gift! it was really awesome to work with all of you this summer and I’m so grateful for all the support you’ve given. also enjoy this friendly orpheus a la chris

Improving the speed and performance of the image api with Vercel’s Edge Network and cachingl!
Today was the first time I ever used a switch case outside of a programming assignment! Had to refractor the image api I’ve been working on because we added a few more image templates, and vercel functions size limit wouldn’t let it all be uploaded as one
Finally integrated the image generation api with the meta tags of the Defund12 site, so now every page has custom social previews!
Finished the image generation API for Defund12!
Working on a meta preview image generation API for Defund12's Gatsby site
