I built my #blot robot, which arrived on Wednesday! Unfortunately, one of the stepper motor driver boards is broken, so hopefully the replacement arrives soon!

This is a submission for the HackClub Arcade. I created a C++ Program that simulates the realistic operation of a normal post office with virtual people. This project was created in Replit's Integrated Development Environment. This program simulates the line at the post office. Customers are able to enter the post office at any time during the 480 minute day. They arrive at intervals of 1 to 5 minutes, and each customer has a task to handle with the postal employee. The task time can take between 1 and 4 minutes. With only one employee working, if the employee is helping another customer, all entering customers will be placed in line and helped in the order in which they arrived. This simple concept is illustrated using a queue to hold the time at which each customer arrives and a simple state machine to flag the status of the employee as either busy or available. All of this is contained in a while loop that runs for 480 iterations to simulate the length of a business day. If there is anyone left in the queue at the end of the 480 iterations, they are simply de-queued until the queue is empty. This program also uses an additional C++ file to hold all of the functions associated with the main method. Things to display at the closing of the doors would be total number of people processed, longest wait time, shortest wait time, average wait time, average task time, and how many customers are left at the door. This was a fun exercise to improve my logical programming skills while replicating a long experience that I recently had at a similar establishment. Chessbot controlboard PCBs arrived from JLC today and I was able to assemble one enough to have one axis moving!!!

Day 2 Tried out this new IDE (cursor.com) and I really like it. I might switch over from VSCode. Added a visible property to my display framework for my trial project to set a component’s visibility. My new soldering lead just arrived today, so I finished soldering the rest of the components for my musical Tesla coil project! I still need to 3D print the body and buy some magnet wires though.

For the last three months, me and 2 friends have been working on an interactive planetarium show as part of our final XR Design assessment. Now that it's complete, I'd like to present......... THE BLACK DOME! The Black Dome is a short animated planetarium show where Fleeb, a teacher, takes his class back to 1348 - when the Black Death arrived in England. The interactive part of this is a website where the audience get to vote on what they want Fleeb to talk about. Here's a video showcase. The first 2 and a bit minutes you can see the project in action in a simulated dome. The remaining time is us breaking down the project and discussing different aspects of it. youtu.be/rLW9x-yicfU We were unfortunately not able to get the voice lines we recorded in before our deadline but they'll be coming to an update soon. I followed the hackercard from #onboard and it was really helpful it getting me used to the software! I ordered a flipper zero, and it arrived today. So I'm now writing an application in C (with basically no documentation) in order to create some Shortcuts for my tv remote. Once I finish this, I'm gonna make something that allows me to transfer files over IR

I made some USB hubs! I’ve been working on the design since @hugo.y.hu935 gave an #onboard workshop at Outernet. I made the schematic and PCB layout about a week ago, and the actual fabricated boards arrived yesterday– so quick! Next step is to test them out, but they look like they’re all connected correctly. After I confirm they work I’ll put a making-of post in #onboard for other people who want to do stuff with USBs

#hardware-party Day 10/... Wow time flies, the 10 days are already up. AliExpress shipping :tw_face_palm:, one final thing still hasn't arrived (eta was the 17th). I've been too busy with #frc as well as preparing for a music competition recently so I couldn't work on it as much as I'd liked. Still got a ton done though. Today I worked on some software stuff, soldered some wires and getting electronics ready. I'm racing to get it complete before the 🚢 Ship Showcase!

I spent the two first days of the winter hardware wonderland assembling my 3D printer. All of my parts haven’t arrived yet so Today I did some test printing and adjusted the slicer settings.

:winter-hardware-wonderland: Day 1 of #WinterHardwareWonderland :winter-hardware-wonderland: First of all, I love seeing the progress from different projects so early on! Nice job everyone! As for my project, I am creating an Interactive Digital Art Installation and MIDI Controller. For more info here’s the PR: github.com/hackclub/winter/blob/main/Amagtoto.md So… it was a busy day today so I did not get much done. However, since all the materials arrived considerably early we (my sisters and I) set up the 3D printer and did a couple wacky test prints. I have the cad for the MIDI controller case from the step-by-step tutorial I am following and am planning to print that asap. As for the digital art, I have familiarized myself with TouchDesigner over the past few weeks and so today I learned how to incorporate the webcam into the displays. I plan to set up the projector screen tomorrow. 9 days more to go (hoping to make much more progress soon) :acongablob:
